CPET regional workshops

Sign up now.

CertificatesCPET is coming to a town near you! The venues and dates for this winter’s regional workshops across the UK have now been set.

Are you a public sector buyer or specifier of wood derived products e.g. furniture, timber, paper etc? Or are you a public sector supplier; subcontractor, architect, facilities manager, construction company, merchant, importer supplying wood derived products for government contracts either directly or indirectly? And have you not yet attended a CPET Workshop? Send off your booking form while there are still spaces available.

The CPET training workshops are offered in addition to the monthly workshops in Oxford to assist government procurement personnel and their suppliers in meeting government timber procurement policy requirements. The workshops provide detailed information on the UK Government’s timber procurement policy and advice on how public sector buyers and their suppliers can meet these policy requirements in practice Both half day and full day workshops are offered.

The half day workshop is an overview which covers responsible purchasing, Illegal logging, the UK Government Policy, definitions and types of evidence that are available and how you check them.

The full day workshop is more in depth with more time dedicated to examining the types of evidence that are available working through several case studies and includes additional topics such as contract conditions and implementation.

I found the workshop excellent and the most useful elements to me were a better understanding of the Category A and B specifications (CPET Workshop participant, Manchester 2006)

Further details on the workshops and the booking form are in the Upcoming workshops & events section.
