2.  Guidance on how to check a certificate.

3.  Local Authority Sustainable Timber Procurement Cupboard

This is a step by step guide to the implementation of a sustainable timber procurement policy in Durham County Council.  This useful tool gives a good overview of the process for developing and implementing a policy in a Local Authority and the difficulties and benefits that Durham experienced. The guide is supported by a number of documents which give background and information about how other Local Authorities can develop and implement sustainable timber procurement policies in line with the UK Government timber procurement policy.

4.  Developing a Green Public Procurement policy. Fact sheet.

Toolkit developed for the European Commission by ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability, 2008

5. After implementing your policy, it is important to check  your purchases and record the information. Even a simple yes or no listing as to whether you could tell your product was from a certified source is a good start. This monitoring template is a simple tool to help you record and monitor the success of your policy.
